James “Jim” Hart is the founder and Managing Member of Lightfoot Group, LLC. Jim is a CPA who spent his early business career as an auditor with Peat, Marwick & Mitchell (now KPMG). He next served as Controller of a mortgage banking firm and Chief Financial Officer of a managing general insurance agency. In the late 1980’s, he started a financial consulting firm in Atlanta where he began providing forensic accounting and related financial consulting services to businesses, lenders, investors and attorneys. During the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, Jim worked for two Atlanta-area forensic and valuation service firms before establishing Lightfoot Group, LLC in 2002. In addition Jim has served as a court-appointed neutral (receiver, auditor and special master) since 1996.
Professionally, Jim is a CPA in Georgia and is also a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He previously held the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credentials, both issued by the AICPA.
